  • Editorial,-R. Lowdon - 5 years ago 4 issues were identified - How have they gone?
  • 1. NZSP Organisation - has gone full circle3 - National Executive instead of Regional Councils These lasted 5 years
  • 2.  Journal Mrs. Gibson Smith changed format and Structure - she has now resigned.
  • 3.  ACC and Private Practitioners - A battle over increased expenditure and fee for service limits. In Nov 1983 ACC reduced referral numbers from 10 to 6. NZSP lodged  a High Court injunction against ACC and won.
  • 4. Auckland Physiotherapy School moved from Grafton to North Shore. At present there is no chance to do 1 year more study and get a Batchelor Degree. Instead  an Advanced Diploma in Manual Therapy is in its 3rd year at ATI.

  • Guest Editorial by G. Wilson - “We Expect certain standards of members, The Management Review Committee has suggested setting up a Central Ethical Advisory Committee
  • Annual Report By the President of the NZSP - The Management Review Committee have dealt with restructing of the Society, the Preparation of a Rule Book, and setting of Guidelines. The Education Committee have collected material concerning University Education. The Public Relations Sub-committee was established at the beginning of the year. The Ethics Committee will start soon.  The Physio Act is a Concern. The Hospital Physios changed from Society to the Public Service Assn - can now  join both. Started a Committee during the year to look at Quality Assurance. Had a High Court Injunction against ACC.   S.I..G.- PAPMA formed.    Honours - RobinMcKenzie Fellow of American Physical Therapy Assn.  P. Stokes got the QSM.  Joy Tedder has been working for 1 year.
